The annual Apple keynote took place last week and millions of people tuned in to see the latest releases. Apple fans from all around the world have waited for news on the newest iPhones.
There are over 700 million iPhones in use around the world now. With such popularity, the newest models have been highly anticipated for months.
The launch revealed three new models, the iPhone Xs, the XR, and the Xs Max. The Xs and Xs Max are available now but the XR isn’t yet. Here, we’ll only be discussing the two that are out now.
If you’re thinking of upgrading to the new iPhone here’s a quick run through of these new devices.
Xs and Xs Max: All About the New iPhone
Aside from the sizes, both the Xs and the Xs Max are identical in specs. Here’s a quick rundown of the new phones so you can decide whether to upgrade or not.
The new iPhones now come with a stunning new OLED display tech with 458 pixels per inch. Like the iPhone X, they both have an edge to edge bezel-less display with that controversial notch up top.
This makes watching videos, playing games and looking at photos a beautiful experience. If you opt for the Xs Max you’ll be getting a bigger screen which makes it enjoyable to look at.
The color and brightness is incredible and makes it one of the best displays on the market.
The race between Apple and Android to make the best smartphone cameras is on. iPhones are aiming to be the best in the biz this year. These cameras are a significant upgrade from last year’s model. But we aren’t sure if they compete with the Pixel 2 quite yet.
The front cameras rock a 7-megapixel sensor and f/2.2 lens and now supports Portrait Mode. The rear cameras have an optically stabilized f/2.4 lens and a 12-megapixel sensor.
You can now adjust the bokeh (background blurring) effect to your liking for better depth of field. There’s a lot of tech specs for the camera, but these are the basic upgrades.
If your iPhone won’t charge or loses battery, the battery on the new iPhones will entice you. The Xs Max has a bigger battery and you’ll get around 12 hours of use with one charge!
This is applicable even with heavy use and without enabling power saver mode. It’s easy to get a day of use from it without needing to bring a power cable.
It also runs an A12 chip making the processor a lot faster and you’ll get a smooth experience. Amazingly, the A12 chip can run up to 2 trillion operations at once!
Do You Need the New iPhone?
Now that you know the main stuff, do you need the new iPhone? If you’re rocking last year’s X, you don’t need to upgrade. But if you’re on something older like the 6s or 7, you’ll definitely notice a big difference.
